Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bj Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alessandro Carrano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bj Cane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alessandro Carrano! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carrano shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Cane won't allow Carrano to pass to mount. Cane controlling the position well. Cane has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bj Cane. Carrano wants to clinch and Cane counters with a stiff right hand. Carrano shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Cane connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carrano displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cane. Carrano closes the distance looking to clinch and Cane counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cane is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Carrano is looking to escape. Carrano trying to hold on to Cane's head to control him but Cane postures up.
Cane is figuring out what he wants to do next. Cane's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Bj Cane wasn't doing enough on the ground. Nice body punch from Carrano. The fight stays on the outside here - Carrano looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Carrano doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cane decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carrano's guard. Carrano looks gassed! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cane content to stall in guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bj Cane has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Carrano tries for a takedown but Cane circles away easily and Cane counters with a takedown into side control. Bj Cane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alessandro Carrano. Cane controls the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cane seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carrano for as long as he can get away with.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Bj Cane wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Carrano misses with a takedown attempt and Cane counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Carrano! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cane moves to the back. Carrano is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Cane.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bj Cane dominated that round. That's time! Cane's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Cane closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carrano tries to clinch but fails miserably and Cane counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cane is controlling the pace.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Cane maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Carrano could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Cane has cracked it and Carrano is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Cane!
