Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Grande (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Coach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grande comes to the cage accompanied by I Drove All Night. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacques Grande!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Coach!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coach pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Coach lands a nice hook to Grande's body. Grande takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Coach enables Grande to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Coach manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Grande trying to control the position from guard on top but Coach is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Coach is on top in guard.
Coach throws and elbow that misses. Grande uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Coach's guard. Nice move by Grande!

Coach is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Grande defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coach thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Grande wants to control from the top but Coach keeps moving.
Grande is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Coach is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Coach lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Coach is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Coach isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Grande stacks Coach on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Grande!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Grande cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Coach wants to control but Grande is having none of it.
Grande has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Coach's face.

Grande can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Coach is looking to escape.
Grande takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Grande is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Coach is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Jacques Grande has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

and Coach counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Grande thinking.

Coach shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Grande's guard.

James Coach showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Coach looking for a triangle here. Grande is fighting it but it looks tight! Coach pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Grande is tapping out - this one is all over!
