Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis takes the fight into the clinch.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ivan Davis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Romero rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Davis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Davis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Romero uses from the top position.

Davis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Romero defends it easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Davis is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Romero will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Let's hope that Davis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
