Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryce Hosking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cain Velasquez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bryce Hosking's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cain Velasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bryce Hosking! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hosking shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Velasquez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Hosking stopping the sweep attempt from Velasquez. Hosking really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hosking wants to get up but he can't break Velasquez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Velasquez is trying to control the position but Hosking postures up. Velasquez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Velasquez wants to sweep but no luck. Hosking scoring with punches to the head and body. Hosking engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Velasquez wants to stand up but Hosking is controlling him. Hosking drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hosking jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hosking advances position into side control! Hosking decides to stand back up. Hosking steps back and let's Velasquez get back to his feet. Velasquez lands with an overhand left. Cain Velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hosking shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Velasquez is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hosking lands strikes from half guard. Velasquez is trying to maintain the position but Hosking is very close to passing his half guard. Well, if Hosking is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Velasquez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Velasquez looking for a guillotine here but Hosking defends easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Velasquez is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hosking has a closed guard, preventing Velasquez from standing up. Hosking is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hosking looks gassed! Velasquez trying to control but Hosking is working from the bottom. Hosking preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hosking pulls Velasquez in close to prevent any damage. Velasquez trying to control but Hosking is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Velasquez passes Hosking's left leg - he's now in half guard. Velasquez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Velasquez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hosking does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bryce Hosking dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Velasquez lands a jab-cross combination. Hosking moves into range and clinches up with Velasquez. Velasquez misses with a body punch.
Hosking blocks a body shot from Velasquez. Hosking content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Hosking prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hosking lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Velasquez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Velasquez. Velasquez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hosking postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hosking is breathing heavily. Hosking trying to stand up but can't free himself from Velasquez's guard. Hosking wants to control from the top but Velasquez keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hosking's guard. Velasquez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Velasquez landing with the ground and pound. Velasquez trying to control the position from guard on top but Hosking is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Velasquez works over Hosking with some ground and pound from guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hosking keeping moving, preventing Velasquez from controlling successfully. Velasquez wanted to stand there but Hosking had control of the position. Velasquez forces his way into half guard. Velasquez wants to stand up but Hosking has a hold of him and won't allow it. Velasquez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Velasquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hosking keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez tries to pass to full mount but Hosking defends it. Velasquez trying to control the action but Hosking is working from the bottom. It looks like Velasquez is going to stand back up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hosking is refusing to be controlled, as Velasquez sits in half guard.
We're going to have a standup here because Cain Velasquez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hosking.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Velasquez is looking to clinch but Hosking is avoiding it.
Velasquez connects with the punch. Hosking walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Hosking ducks right into an uppercut from Velasquez. Velasquez wants to clinch up but Hosking keeps it at a distance. Velasquez lands with a right hand. Velasquez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Velasquez with a body punch. A glancing blow. Velasquez scores with a nice head shot. Velasquez scores with a three punch combo!
Hosking is rocked! Velasquez walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Hosking drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Velasquez swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Hosking's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cain Velasquez!
