Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Martin Demon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Conway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Conway has chosen Amazing - Kanye West as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Martin Demon!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shaun Conway!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demon shoots and misses
and Conway counters with a nice uppercut.

Conway clinches up against the cage.
Demon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Conway pulls his leg out and moves away.
Conway tries to clinch up.
Conway misses with a body shot.

Conway shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Conway's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Conway really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Demon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Conway wants to control from the top but Demon keeps moving.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Conway tries to close the distance and clinch but Demon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Demon counters with a series of strikes. Conway will be more careful next time no doubt.

Demon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Conway swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Martin Demon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Conway closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Conway thows a huge punch but Demon dodges it nicely.

Conway thows an elbow strike that misses. Demon gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Conway doesn't seem too bothered but Demon quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Conway is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Conway really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
