Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evander Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Voitsek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the ring accompanied by Enter Sandman. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Shawn Voitsek was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evander Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Voitsek! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Voitsek gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Voitsek takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Shawn Voitsek has been cut. Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there. Voitsek wants to get back to his feet. Jones throws a strike but Voitsek avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Voitsek utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Voitsek can do anything to dispel that myth. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Voitsek preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Voitsek looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Voitsek looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Voitsek! Voitsek postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Voitsek has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Jones! Jones tries to hold on but Voitsek pushes him away. Voitsek looking to ground and pound but Jones is blocking nicely. Voitsek misses with a head shot. Voitsek trying to control but Jones is having none of it. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Voitsek thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jones avoids a series of strikes thrown by Voitsek.
Voitsek thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Voitsek misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Voitsek looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jones wants to control but Voitsek is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Voitsek looking to ground and pound but Jones is blocking nicely. Jones tries to lock up and control but Voitsek gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Voitsek looks gassed! Poor strikes thrown by Voitsek there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Jones tries to hold on but Voitsek postures up. Voitsek misses with a head shot. Voitsek goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jones is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Voitsek working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jones. Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Voitsek's head. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. Jones lands an elbow. Voitsek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jones looks up at the clock and then as Voitsek takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jones cracks Voitsek with a big right hand but Voitsek just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Voitsek takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Voitsek takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Voitsek is trying to get back to his feet. Jones is putting a hurting on Voitsek here, landing some big shots from side control. Voitsek wants to get back to his feet but Jones drags him back down. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Voitsek throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Voitsek shoots and misses and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Evander Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones is working for a kimura but Voitsek is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Voitsek kicks off Jones and gets to his feet. Jones lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Voitsek backs up against the ropes.
Voitsek with a lazy takedown attempt and Jones counters with a two punch combo. Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Voitsek which made him look bad. Jones shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Jones is nestled in close to Voitsek, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jones is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Voitsek reverses the position - he's now on top in Jones's guard. Voitsek loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Voitsek with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Voitsek is bucking up trying to escape but Jones cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Voitsek to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Voitsek shrugs it off. Jones landing punches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones lands a big shot there that rocks Voitsek but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jones has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Voitsek's face.
Jones raining down hammerfists from mount. Jones cracks Voitsek with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones with shots to the head and body - Voitsek looks very uncomfortable down there. Jones won't let Voitsek get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Jones working the ground and pound effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Jones dominating with strikes here. Jones raining down hammerfists from mount. A nice elbow there by Jones. Jones moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Voitsek has worked his arm free - good work by Voitsek!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Voitsek takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Check out the look on Jones's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Voitsek sneaks out the side door and pushes Jones away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Voitsek misses with a jab, cross combination.
Voitsek shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Voitsek's guard now. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Voitsek is retaining full guard. Jones landing with the ground and pound. Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Voitsek has wrist control. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jones landing some decent shots from guard. Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Evander Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Voitsek wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Voitsek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones landing with the ground and pound. Jones stands up over Voitsek, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Jones pushes down on Voitsek's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jones prevents Voitsek from standing back up.
Voitsek kicks Jones off and gets back to his feet. Jones smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Voitsek takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Voitsek gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard. Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Voitsek can do to turn this around? Voitsek is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea. Jones wants to control from the top but Voitsek keeps moving. Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Voitsek's head. Jones scores with a decent looking elbow strike. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones won't allow Voitsek to get back to his feet. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Voitsek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shawn Voitsek has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones landing with the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Evander Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
