0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Urijah Faber! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Faber closes the distance and clinches up with Rip, looking for a takedown. Faber pushes Rip against the cage but Rip circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Urijah Faber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rip looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Rip scores with a takedown into Faber's guard. Faber not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Faber looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rip is one step ahead there. Rip content to stall in guard here. Faber is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Faber doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rip tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rip fails to take his opponent's back. Rip stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Faber fails with the takedown and Rip decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. Rip looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Rip won't allow Faber to sweep him here. Faber looking for a guillotine here but Rip defends easily.

Faber Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Rip's back instead. Rip fending off the submission attempt from Faber.

Faber is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Rip taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Faber.
