Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Upton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Upton might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Shutterbug. Chris Bell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Upton! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Bell! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Upton lands a jab to the nose. Luke Upton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Upton goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Chris Bell has been cut. A cross from Upton lands. Upton misses with a low kick. Bell with a nice cross. Bell avoids the head kick by Upton.
Bell lands a head shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Upton swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Bell counter with a right hand. Bell misses with a series of wild punches.
Upton throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Bell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Upton swings widly with a right hand
and Bell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Upton throws a right hand that misses
and Bell counters with a right hand to the body. Upton throws a lazy uppercut
and Bell counters with a series of strikes. Upton will be more careful next time no doubt. Upton closes the distance and clinches up with Bell, looking for a takedown. Upton pushes Bell against the cage but Bell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bell lands a jab to the head.
Bell tries to clinch up but Upton circles away and keeps his distance. Upton misses with a right hand and Bell counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Bell misses with a series of wild punches.
Bell tries to close the distance and clinch but Upton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Upton misses with a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A left and a right from Upton both land. Nice combination. A shot to the body from Upton misses and Upton takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Upton throws a solid leg kick but Bell takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Upton. Upton throws a good cross that connects.
Bell stalks Upton and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Upton's face. Upton staggers backwards, shaken. Upton throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Upton misses with a low kick.
Upton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bell avoids it really well and circles away. Upton is breathing heavily. Bell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice uppercut there from Bell. Upton throws a body kick that misses. Upton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bell's guard. Bell keeping moving, preventing Upton from controlling successfully. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Upton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Upton slips nicely into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bell is defending against the submission attempts here by Upton.
Upton throwing shots but Bell is blocking nicely. Upton trying to pass the guard but Bell defending well. Upton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bell is just riding it out for now. Upton eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bell is defending against the submission attempts here by Upton.
Upton is nestled in close to Bell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Upton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bell defends it well. Upton is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bell has managed to free his arm - good work. Bell is in trouble now - Upton has advanced to mount! Upton working for a submission but Bell is keeping him at bay. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Upton misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Upton dominated that round. The cut man is working on Chris Bell's cut. That's time! Upton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Upton takes one on the button. Good exchange - Bell coming out on top. Upton misses with a double jab
enabling Bell to counter with a crisp jab. Upton throws a lazy uppercut
and Bell counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Upton thinking. That kick from Upton tenderised Bell's leg. Bell is trying to keep his angry face on. Upton lands a jab to Bell's midsection. Bell avoids the body shot from Upton.

and Bell counters with a one-two to the body. Upton pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters circling a little - Upton finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. A punch lands to the side of Upton 's head but he takes it in his stride. Bell misses the shot to the body. Upton throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Bell to counter with a crisp jab. Upton tries to clinch up letting Bell counter with a right hand. Bell fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bell lands a right hook to the body.
Bell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Upton misses with a left hand and Bell counters with a left and a right that stings Upton. Upton throws a head kick that misses. Bell tries to keep at a distance but Upton has taken the fight into the clinch. Upton manages to break the clinch.

Upton pushes Bell against the cage but Bell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Danga de danga de dang - Bell scores with a four punch combination! Luke Upton is winning the standup battle so far. Upton throws a poor cross that misses
and Bell counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Upton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Upton is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Upton is trying to push Bell away but Bell has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Upton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Bell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Bell scores with a hook. Upton throws a lazy uppercut
and Bell counters with a lovely straight right hand! Sloppy strikes from Bell. Those never looked like landing. Upton looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Bell fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Bell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Bell instigates a clinch. Bell tries to stall but Upton uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
A frustrated look appears on Upton's face as he tries to break the clinch. Bell stalling.
Bell tries to circle away but Upton has him pinned against the cage. Upton is trying to break the clinch but Bell is controlling him. Upton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Upton connects with a crisp jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bell lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Upton at a distance.
Upton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Upton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Upton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Upton drops back looking for a leg! Bell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bell manages to kick Upton off! Upton jumps back into Bell's guard. Bell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Upton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Upton looking to pass the guard. Upton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Upton missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Upton stands and throws Bell's legs to the side, diving into side control. Upton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Upton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Upton tries for a kimura but Bell is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Luke Upton will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Chris Bell's cut. That's time! Upton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Upton finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Upton misses with a left hand and Bell counters with a nice body shot. Bell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Upton backs up against the cage.
Upton tries for a takedown but Bell circles away easily and Bell counters with a stiff right hand. Upton decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Bell won't allow Upton to pass to mount. Upton missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Upton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bell is just riding it out for now. Upton eventually gives up the hold. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Upton missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bell can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Upton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Upton is looking to take a break and control but Bell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Upton is working for a kimura but Bell is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Upton moves into full mount! Bell won't be happy about that! Bell taking shots to the head. Bell is squirming around, avoiding Upton's attempts to control the action. Upton working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Bell turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Upton off and cradles Bell's limp body as Upton celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Luke Upton! Luke Upton retains his welterweight title!
