Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Torched Sonicboom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Torched Sonicboom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Compton!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Compton shoots for a takedown but Sonicboom saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Compton tries to circle away but Sonicboom has him pinned against the cage.
Compton stalling the fight.
Sonicboom landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Sonicboom lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Compton blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Sonicboom breaks the clinch.
Sonicboom throws a nice outside leg kick.
Sonicboom tries to clinch but Compton moves out of range.

Sonicboom moves into the clinch.
Compton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Sonicboom goes for a takedown attempt but Compton pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sonicboom swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sonicboom wants to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Compton.

Sonicboom throws a body kick that misses.
Compton moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Sonicboom throws a head kick but Compton moves out of range.

Compton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sonicboom pinned against the cage. Sonicboom gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Torched Sonicboom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Compton.
Sonicboom goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Compton cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Compton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sonicboom manages to get himself to full guard.
Sonicboom knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Compton on the ground.
Sonicboom is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Compton is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sonicboom is staying active underneath Compton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Compton throws a head kick but Sonicboom moves out of range.

Compton throws a leg kick which misses Sonicboom's front leg but catches the back leg as Sonicboom tries to avoid it.
Compton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sonicboom is looking to score with low kicks.
Compton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sonicboom moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Compton looks for a takedown but Sonicboom sprawls well.
Compton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Compton dives in and grabs Sonicboom's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sonicboom pushes down on Compton's head and hops out.

That was a close round but I would say that Torched Sonicboom will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Compton moves into range and clinches up with Sonicboom.

Compton lands with a thumping leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sonicboom looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Compton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sonicboom was well out of range. Poor timing from Compton.

Compton has Sonicboom up against the cage in a clinch.
Compton wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sonicboom has him pressed against the cage.

Sonicboom escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Compton has closed the distance and engaged Sonicboom in a clinch.
Compton fails to pull guard.
Compton drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sonicboom pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sonicboom doesn't manage to clinch there - Compton circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Compton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Compton uses his free foot to push down on Sonicboom's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sonicboom.
Sonicboom tries to reverse the position but Compton maintains control.
The referee warns Sonicboom that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Compton postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sonicboom looks a forlorn figure.
Sonicboom is wriggling around trying to escape.

Compton might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sonicboom kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Mike Compton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
