Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Wafel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Dorea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Dorea! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wafel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Dorea is looking for a sweep. Wafel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Wafel missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Wafel is looking for a kimura here.
Dorea is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wafel pulls his head out easily. Dorea keeping control of the position. Dorea slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dorea has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Dorea is trying to keep Wafel in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Wafel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dorea is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Wafel's leg. He's managed it. That's three minutes gone in the round. Wafel is looking for a kimura but Dorea is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wafel to get the leverage. Wafel looks to land a strike but Dorea avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Wafel wants to control from the top but Dorea keeps moving. Dorea thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Dorea is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dorea is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wafel defends well. Dorea looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wafel passes into side control.
Wafel throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Dorea works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dorea moves into full guard.

Dorea tries to hold on but Wafel pushes him away. Wafel looking to control but Dorea is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Wafel is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Dorea has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Dorea! Wafel throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dorea escapes and throws Wafel's legs to the side, diving into side control! Wafel throws a few strikes from the bottom but Dorea takes advantage and mounts! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dorea working away from the top, dropping strikes. Dorea with a couple of short strikes. Dorea landing strikes from the mount and Wafel is in trouble! Wafel is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dorea looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. A nice elbow there by Dorea. Dorea sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Let's hope that Dorea has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Dorea landing shots from mount.

Dorea distracts Wafel with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Wafel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dorea defends it easily. Dorea engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Wafel is striking from the bottom but Dorea uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dorea passes the guard and advances to mount!

And that's the end of the fight! Rodrigo Dorea comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dorea has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
