Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Liam Erickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Liam Erickson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liam Erickson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kuroda Atsushi! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Erickson misses with the combination.
Atsushi on the wrong end of a nice jab. Atsushi takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Atsushi showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Erickson.
Erickson with a nice cross. Atsushi throws a right and a left that Erickson avoids nicely. Erickson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Atsushi circles away quickly and effectively. Erickson tries to bum rush Atsushi with a series of wild strikes but Atsushi uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Liam Erickson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Atsushi misses with the combination.
Erickson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Atsushi. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Atsushi fails to land the takedown. Atsushi showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Erickson.
Atsushi closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Erickson's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atsushi landing with the ground and pound. Atsushi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Erickson is keeping the position for now. Atsushi prevents Erickson from getting back to his feet. Atsushi passes into half guard. Erickson won't allow Atsushi to pass to mount. Erickson is not content to let Atsushi control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Atsushi in particular looking to stall. Atsushi scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Atsushi tries to pass to full mount but Erickson defends it. Atsushi trying to control from half guard but Erickson is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Atsushi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Atsushi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Erickson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atsushi performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Atsushi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Atsushi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Atsushi is looking to stall here but Erickson recovers full guard. Atsushi stands and throws Erickson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Atsushi content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Atsushi is working Erickson over with some ground and pound from side control. Atsushi looks up at the clock and then as Erickson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Atsushi smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Atsushi tries for a kimura but Erickson is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Erickson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kuroda Atsushi dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
No luck for Atsushi with that takedown attempt. Atsushi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Erickson fails to land with a series of punches.

Erickson tries to bum rush Atsushi with a series of wild strikes but Atsushi uses good footwork to avoid the assault. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Atsushi shoots for a double leg takedown but Erickson sprawls well. He's pushed Atsushi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Atsushi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Erickson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Erickson wants it to stay on the feet. Liam Erickson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kuroda Atsushi. Erickson misses with a two punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Erickson throws a right and a left that both miss. Atsushi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Erickson sprawls well. Erickson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Atsushi gets slowly back to his feet. Atsushi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Liam Erickson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Erickson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sloppy strikes from Erickson. Those never looked like landing. Erickson throws a right and a left that Atsushi avoids nicely. Atsushi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Atsushi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Erickson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
No joy there for Erickson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Atsushi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Erickson to the ground. Atsushi is now in Erickson's guard. Atsushi is stalling in the full guard. Atsushi stands and throws Erickson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Erickson taking punishment in the form of punches.
Erickson dodges the ground and pound from Atsushi. Atsushi lands some shots froms side control. Erickson is not content to let Atsushi control the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atsushi is putting a hurting on Erickson here, landing some big shots from side control. Atsushi sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Erickson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Atsushi lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Atsushi in side control lands a decent elbow. Erickson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Atsushi on the ground. Atsushi cracks Erickson with a big right hand but Erickson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Erickson is rocked! The strikes coming from Atsushi are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Atsushi is chipping away with strikes.
Oh Erickson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Atsushi trying to control the action but Erickson is working from the bottom. Erickson seems to have got his legs back now. Erickson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Erickson tries to get out of the position. Atsushi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Atsushi misses with the ground and pound. Atsushi is looking to take a break and control but Erickson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Atsushi throws a strike aimed at the side of Erickson's head but Erickson avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kuroda Atsushi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Atsushi gets the takedown into side control. Atsushi trying to control the position but Erickson is working away. Atsushi throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Erickson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Atsushi connects with a decent elbow. Atsushi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Erickson keeps working. Atsushi lands a decent elbow from side control. Atsushi looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Erickson is avoiding damage well.
You can see the frustration on Erickson's face as Atsushi controls the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Erickson is not content to let Atsushi control the position. Atsushi working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Erickson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Atsushi wants to control but Erickson is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Erickson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Atsushi. Atsushi landing strikes. Atsushi creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Atsushi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Erickson has escaped the position, nice work there. Atsushi staying calm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atsushi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Atsushi in side control, throwing shots but Erickson defends. Atsushi creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Liam Erickson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kuroda Atsushi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Atsushi in side control, just content to control the action for now. Erickson defending against the ground and pound. Atsushi controlling from side mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Kuroda Atsushi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Atsushi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
