Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between G S (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glenardo Silva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glenardo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
S throws a poor cross that misses
and Silva counters with a lovely straight right hand!
S with a lazy takedown attempt

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva throwing strikes but missing.

S knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

S tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Silva misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by S, who protects the arm well.

Let's hope that Silva has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Glenardo Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
