Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darius Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stann Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone has chosen BLUNT- "The Iron Maiden" as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darius Thomas!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stann Stone!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas looks to land a combination. Stone sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Stone is trying hard to land a takedown here. Thomas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Thomas misses with a looping left.

Stone looking to score a takedown here. Thomas is defending well but Stone drives through and ends up in Thomas's guard.
Stone wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.
Thomas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stone is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Stann Stone.
Stone looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Stone shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thomas pinned against the cage. Thomas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Stone throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Stone closes the distance looking to clinch
and Thomas counters with a left to the body.
Stone tried to score with a low kick but Thomas checks it.
Darius Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stone lands with a thumping leg kick.

Stone throws a sloppy head kick and Thomas moves out of range easily.
Thomas misses with a combination
and Stone counters with a slapping leg kick.
Stone goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Stone slips a jab and a cross from Thomas.
Stone dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thomas. That did some damage!
Stone throws a head kick that misses.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Thomas misses with a wild body shot.
A good leg kick by Stone.
Thomas scores with a jab to the head.
Thomas jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Stone cracks the inside of Thomas's front leg.
Stone scoring well with a low kick there.
Nice body kick there by Stone.

Stone tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Thomas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Stone fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thomas.

Stone bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Stone tries to move to full mount but Thomas actually manages to regain half guard.
Thomas wants to get back to full guard.

Thomas kicks Stone off and gets back to his feet.

Thomas moves out of range of the body kick.
Thomas avoids a kick to the body.
Thomas swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Stone counters with a nice double leg into side control. Thomas won't be happy with that.

Stone is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Thomas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Stone trying to control the position but Thomas is working away.
Thomas is looking to regain half guard here but Stone keeps moving and retains side control.

Stone prevents Thomas from escaping the position.
Stone wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thomas keeps working.

Thomas wants to get back to his feet.

Thomas is not content to let Stone control the position.
Thomas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Thomas tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stone goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Thomas rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Stone's guard! Nice work there by Thomas!

Thomas stands up and waves to Stone to follow him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Stone gets the takedown into side control.
Thomas can't do much from the bottom here.
Thomas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stone on the ground.
Stone trying to control the position but Thomas is working away.
Stone tries to move to mount but Thomas blocks the move with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stann Stone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Stone connects with a leg kick. Thomas looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Stone scoring well with a low kick there.

Stone closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thomas did well to prevent Stone getting side control.
Thomas tries to kick Stone off but Stone keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Stone looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Thomas is not content to let Stone control the position.

Thomas is trying to stand.
Stone wants to free his trapped foot but Thomas is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Thomas is staying active underneath Stone, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Thomas is defending against the submission attempts here by Stone.
Thomas is looking to improve his position.

Stone is looking for a kimura here.

Stone is working for a submission of some sort.
Stone stops Thomas from getting back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stone wants to control but Thomas is keeping him busy.

Stone seems to be looking for submissions.
Stone works his way into full mount!

Stone moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Thomas has worked his arm free - good work by Thomas!

Thomas throws a right hand that misses

and Stone counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Stone wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.
Stone postures up in Thomas's guard and throws a big left but Thomas blocks it.

Stone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Stone stops Thomas from standing up.

Thomas uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Thomas is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Stone does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stone throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Stone lands with a slapping head kick.
Stone finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Good work by Thomas as he checks the leg kick.
Thomas throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Stone throws a head kick that misses.
Thomas loads up on a big right hand but Stone slips the punch.
Stone lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Stone connects with an inside leg kick.
Stone throws a push kick but Thomas slaps the foot to one side.

and Stone counters with a thumping low kick.
Stone misses with a leg kick.
Stone with a poor takedown
and Thomas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Some bone on bone action there as Thomas checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Stone feints and then cracks Thomas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Thomas down.

Thomas tries to bum rush Stone with a series of wild strikes but Stone uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Thomas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Stone ducks under a wild hook from Thomas.
Stone wants to clinch up but Thomas keeps it at a distance.
Thomas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Thomas counters with a nice uppercut.
Thomas misses with the combination.

A close fourth round but Stann Stone will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Stone moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Thomas throws out a loose jab but Stone uses good head movement to avoid it.
Thomas swats away the attempt to clinch by Stone.
Stone shoots in for a double leg but Thomas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Thomas throws a right hand that Stone ducks under and follows up with a left that Stone also avoids with ease.
Stone is looking to slow Thomas down with leg kicks.
Thomas takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Stone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Thomas throws a lazy right hand but Stone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stone showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Thomas.

and Thomas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Stone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Thomas loads up on a big right hand but Stone slips the punch.
Thomas feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Stones jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Stone does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Stone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thomas is fending him off so far but Stone persists. Nope, Thomas circles away and we're back to standing.
Darius Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stann Stone.
Thomas sizes up Stone with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Stone misses with a body kick.
Stone feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Thomas's calf.
Stone tries to close the distance and clinch but Thomas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Darius Thomas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stone does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Stone shoots in looking for a takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl out of it but Stone keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thomas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A decent looking cross lands there for Thomas.

And that's the end of the fight!
Darius Thomas showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Stone has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
