Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Breekman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmonray Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malapitan has chosen My Time is Now as his entrance music. Jonas Breekman could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dmonray Malapitan's chin.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmonray Malapitan! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malapitan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Breekman counters with a nice uppercut. Malapitan gets tackled into the cage by Breekman. Breekman maintains the clinch. Malapitan takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Dmonray Malapitan has been cut. Breekman breaks the clinch.
Malapitan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Breekman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Breekman. Breekman creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Malapitan's defenses. Malapitan tries to score a body lock takedown but Breekman shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Jonas Breekman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmonray Malapitan. Malapitan blocks the elbow strike.
Breekman with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Breekman has a couple of punches blocked by Malapitan.
Breekman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Malapitan smiles and moves away.

Breekman tries to clinch up and Malapitan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Breekman wants to clinch but Malapitan slips to the side and Malapitan counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Malapitan has Breekman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Breekman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Breekman successfully pulls guard.

Breekman is fighting to maintain full guard but Malapitan has managed to sneak the leg through. Breekman is trying to get back to full guard. Malapitan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Breekman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Malapitan on the ground. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Malapitan connects with a nice short shot to Breekman's temple. Malapitan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Breekman is just riding it out for now. Malapitan eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Breekman trying to hold on to Malapitan's head to control him but Malapitan postures up.
Still in half guard, Malapitan seems content to control. Malapitan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Malapitan wants to work for an arm triangle but Breekman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Malapitan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Malapitan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Malapitan stops Breekman from getting back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Jonas Breekman will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Dmonray Malapitan's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Breekman is looking to clinch. Dmonray Malapitan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Malapitan takes the fight into the clinch. Malapitan manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Breekman wants to get up but he can't break Malapitan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Breekman stands up and waves to Malapitan to follow him. Breekman closes the distance and clinches.

Malapitan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Malapitan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Malapitan has control of Breekman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Breekman regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Malapitan cracks Breekman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Malapitan is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Breekman has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Breekman! Malapitan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Malapitan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Breekman. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Breekman tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Malapitan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Breekman moves into range and clinches up with Malapitan.

Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Breekman trying to keep a closed guard but Malapitan is proving a slippery customer.

He's now in Breekman's guard. Nice move by Malapitan! Breekman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Malapitan is one step ahead there. Malapitan trying to control the position from guard on top but Breekman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dmonray Malapitan has got the better of the ground game so far. Malapitan trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Breekman manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Breekman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Malapitan's guard. Breekman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Breekman wants to control from the top but Malapitan keeps moving. Breekman distracts Malapitan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Breekman gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Malapitan misses with a takedown attempt and Breekman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Dmonray Malapitan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Malapitan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dmonray Malapitan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Malapitan throws an overhand right that lands on Breekman's shoulder, as Breekman tries to avoid the shot. Breekman forces Malapitan back against the cage and clinches. Malapitan tries to pull guard but Breekman won't allow it.
Malapitan has hold of one of Breekman's legs. Breekman is fighting the takedown attempt but Malapitan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Malapitan preventing the sweep. Breekman controlling Malapitan's posture. Malapitan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Dmonray Malapitan. I think Breekman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
