Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Tanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lynch comes to the cage accompanied by The Doors-Break on through. Tanaka has chosen Fade to Black by Metallica as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Tim Lynch has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch lunges at Tanaka with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tanaka's hand.
Tanaka misses with a takedown
and Lynch moves into the clinch.
Lynch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tanaka tries for a takedown but Lynch circles away easily
and Lynch counters with a left to the body.
Tanaka shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lynch's guard.
Lynch is controlling Tanaka's posture.
Lynch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lynch wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Tanaka tries to free his leg and advance position but Lynch is retaining full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Tim Lynch wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Tanaka misses with a takedown
and Lynch counters by moving into the clinch.
Tim Lynch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Tanaka.
Lynch lands a hook that snaps the head of Tanaka backwards.
Lynch gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Tanaka regains guard.
Lynch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lynch thows a big elbow that misses.
Lynch is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lynch thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lynch lands a couple of elbows.
Tanaka can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lynch controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tanaka can't keep his opponent in guard - Lynch advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tanaka can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lynch looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tanaka with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lynch seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Lynch is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tanaka defends it well.
Still in half guard, Lynch seems content to control.

Lynch passes to full mount!
Lynch breaks from Tanaka's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Lynch landing strikes from the mount.
Tanaka is rocked!
Lynch unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Tanaka wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Lynch celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
