Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soda Popinkski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the cage accompanied by La Roux - In For The Kill. Soda Popinkski struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Mike Carter has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Soda Popinkski! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carter slaps away a takedown attempt from Popinkski, before circling back to the center of the mat. Carter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Carter has momentary wrist control but Popinkski slips an elbow through the middle. Popinkski loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Popinkski has gone for a leg lock! Carter slips out almost immediately though and dives into Popinkski's guard. Carter trying to control but Popinkski is working from the bottom. Popinkski looking for a sweep. Not yet Popinkski, not yet. Popinkski working for a triangle but Carter defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carter pushes down on Popinkski's leg and manages to get into half guard. Popinkski manages to get to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Carter wanted to stand there but Popinkski had control of the position. Carter avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Carter postures up in Popinkski's guard and throws a big left but Popinkski blocks it. Carter being controlled here momentarily. Popinkski is looking for a triangle but Carter pushes his legs off easily.
Popinkski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Carter has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter gets to his feet. Popinkski looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Nice uppercut there from Popinkski. Popinkski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carter tries to avoid it but Popinkski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carter to the ground. Carter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Popinkski looks gassed! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Popinkski. Mike Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Soda Popinkski. Carter wants to clinch up but Popinkski keeps it at a distance. Carter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Popinkski was well out of range. Poor timing from Carter. Popinkski avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Popinkski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Carter lands with a nice combination. Popinkski backs away looking to recover. Carter misses with an uppercut. Popinkski saw that one coming.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Carter lands a slapping body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carter connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Carter lands a lovely overhand right. Soda Popinkski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Carter stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Popinkski is rocked! Oooooh!!! Carter has knocked Popinkski down with a huge combo! Carter steps away and waves a wobbly Popinkski back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Popinkski is still on wobbly legs! Can Carter finish him? Carter throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Popinkski stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Carter lands with a good body shot. Popinkski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Popinkski seems to have recovered his senses. Carter lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Popinkski looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Popinkski takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Carter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Carter dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Popinkski takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Popinkski avoids the head kick by Carter.
Mike Carter is winning the standup battle so far. Carter pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Popinkski misses the body punch and Carter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Carter misses with an attempted mid kick.
Carter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Popinkski dodges the punch combination from Carter.
Popinkski throws a hook but Carter avoids it easily. Carter lands a left and a right that send Popinkski crashing to the mat, dazed. Carter thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Carter scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Popinkski is breathing heavily. A shot to the liver by Carter. Beautiful body shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carter drops Popinkski with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Popinkski looks back up at him and smiles so Carter waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Carter lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Popinkski falls backwards - clearly groggy! Carter dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Carter!
