Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dace Javis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Rotch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Javis's entrance music is Highwayman. A fine choice. Rotch has chosen Im Gonna Win-Masterplan as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Javis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rotch throws a right and a left that Javis avoids nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Javis closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rotch counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Javis connects with a body shot.
Javis misses with an uppercut.

Javis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rotch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

enabling Javis to counter with a crisp jab.
Rotch slips a jab and a cross from Javis.
Javis ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rotch slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Rotch takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rotch throws a right and a left that Javis avoids nicely.
Rotch just misses with a punch to the body.
Rotch scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Javis throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Rotch looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rotch misses with a left hand
and Javis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rotch looks gassed!
Javis clinches up with Rotch and pushes him back against the cage.
Javis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rotch gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Javis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rotch prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dace Javis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Javis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rotch pushes Javis off and gets back to his feet.
Rotch throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rotch looks to throw the jab but Javis is out of range.
Javis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rotch looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rotch is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Javis has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Javis has hold of Rotch's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Rotch tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Javis cranks the arm and Rotch screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Rotch, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Dace Javis!
