Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shadow Deathgrip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasaki Yoshida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Yoshida's choice of entrance music: J-Pop Drop. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sasaki Yoshida! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deathgrip feints and as Yoshida raises his hands in defense, Deathgrip changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Yoshida is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Deathgrip is aware though and is defending well. Yoshida looking to control.
Deathgrip drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yoshida looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yoshida looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yoshida! Yoshida wants to control but Deathgrip is keeping him busy. The referee asks Yoshida politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Yoshida prefers to stall for the moment though. Deathgrip is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Yoshida is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deathgrip is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Deathgrip is not content to let Yoshida control the position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Yoshida tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Deathgrip is not content to let Yoshida control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Deathgrip tries to get back to half guard but can't. Yoshida trying to control the action but Deathgrip is working from the bottom. Yoshida wants to control for a moment but Deathgrip uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Deathgrip is refusing to be controlled, as Yoshida sits in half guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sasaki Yoshida wasn't active enough on the ground. Yoshida tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Deathgrip counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Deathgrip. Deathgrip is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Yoshida is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Yoshida has escaped and now he's on top! That's four minutes gone in the round. Deathgrip stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yoshida swivels though and keeps the full guard. Deathgrip passes Yoshida's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Deathgrip is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yoshida defends it well. Deathgrip is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Yoshida keeps control of the position for the meantime. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shadow Deathgrip dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Yoshida wants to clinch and Deathgrip counters with a single leg into guard. Yoshida didn't expect that. Deathgrip really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Deathgrip wants to pass the guard but Yoshida is keeping the position. Deathgrip drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Yoshida manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Deathgrip has Yoshida in his guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Deathgrip avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Yoshida wants to pass the guard but Deathgrip is keeping the position. Yoshida wants to stand but Deathgrip is controlling his posture from full guard. Yoshida trying to control but Deathgrip is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Deathgrip tries for a takedown but Yoshida sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Yoshida misses with a takedown attempt and Deathgrip counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yoshida's guard now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Yoshida looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yoshida manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Deathgrip manages to get himself to full guard.

Yoshida must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Yoshida preventing the sweep. Yoshida wants to control from the top but Deathgrip keeps moving. Yoshida trying to move into half guard but instead Deathgrip has managed to sweep! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deathgrip won't allow Yoshida to get back to his feet. Yoshida controls Deathgrip momentarily but Deathgrip frees himself. Deathgrip sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Yoshida's guard. Deathgrip is trying to work for a kimura but Yoshida is defending well.

Yoshida pushes Deathgrip off looking to stand but Deathgrip dives back in and keeps control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Deathgrip is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Deathgrip prevents Yoshida from improving his position. Deathgrip trying to pass the guard but Yoshida defending well. Yoshida regains full guard. Nicely done. Deathgrip is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Yoshida is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Yoshida has escaped and now he's on top! Yoshida gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Deathgrip counters with a single leg into guard. Yoshida didn't expect that. Deathgrip looking to pass the guard. Deathgrip has gone for a leg lock! Yoshida slips out almost immediately though and dives into Deathgrip's guard. Yoshida trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Deathgrip is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yoshida is controlling him. Yoshida pushing down on Deathgrip's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Deathgrip is trying to control the position but Yoshida postures up. Yoshida has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Deathgrip is proving hard to escape from. Deathgrip keeping moving, preventing Yoshida from controlling successfully. Yoshida working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sasaki Yoshida. Deathgrip avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Deathgrip drops back looking for a leg! Yoshida is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yoshida manages to kick Deathgrip off! Deathgrip jumps back into Yoshida's guard. Deathgrip drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Yoshida dives on top into guard. Deathgrip keeping moving, preventing Yoshida from controlling successfully. Deathgrip has his foot on Yoshida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yoshida works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Deathgrip is trying to keep Yoshida in close.
Shadow Deathgrip is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Yoshida postures up in Deathgrip's guard and throws a big left but Deathgrip blocks it. Yoshida stops Deathgrip from standing up. Deathgrip looking to control.
Sasaki Yoshida has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Deathgrip looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yoshida is one step ahead there. Yoshida drops back looking for a leg! Deathgrip is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Deathgrip manages to kick Yoshida off! Yoshida jumps back into Deathgrip's guard. Yoshida content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
And that's the end of the fight! Shadow Deathgrip showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Deathgrip, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
