Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kiko Kaluma! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jan Lee! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kaluma sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kaluma swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kaluma closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lee quickly recovers to half guard. Nice strikes from Kaluma there. Kaluma will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kaluma is looking for a kimura but Lee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kaluma to get the leverage. Lee is trying to control but can't.
Lee slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Lee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kaluma is one step ahead there. Kaluma landing some decent shots from guard. Kaluma trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kaluma looking to pass the guard. Lee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Lee keeping full guard, as Kaluma tries to pass. Kaluma slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kaluma wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy. Kaluma has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kaluma cracks Lee with a big elbow. Kaluma lands some shots froms side control. Lee is trying to improve his position. Kaluma throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kaluma looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Lee is looking for a sweep. Lee wants to control but Kaluma postures up. Kaluma is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kaluma goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lee has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kaluma but great work by Lee. Kaluma is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lee's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Lee is trying to control the action in half guard but Kaluma is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaluma trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kaluma stands up over Lee, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Kaluma throws a strike but Lee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kaluma has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between Kaluma's legs - danger averted. Kaluma lands a good elbow from the bottom. Lee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lee is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kaluma is on top in guard.

Kiko Kaluma dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lee cracks Kaluma with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Kaluma misses with a body kick. Lee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kaluma tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lee is in Kaluma's guard. Kaluma looking for a sweep. Not yet Kaluma, not yet. Lee wants to control from the top but Kaluma keeps moving. Kaluma working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Lee has passed into half guard!
Kaluma is trying to stand back up but Lee is controlling him

Lee stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kaluma to get to his feet. Lee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kaluma counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that. Kaluma working the head and body with strikes. Kaluma is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kiko Kaluma overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kaluma scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Lee to see if he's OK.

Lee parries the strikes from Kaluma easily there. Kaluma is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lee to escape.
Kaluma lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lee down.
Kaluma stands up and beckons Lee to his feet. Kaluma tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Lee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaluma shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kaluma shoots in for a double leg but Lee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lee tries to clinch up and Kaluma counters with a takedown into side control. Kaluma trying to control the position but Lee is working away. Kaluma scoring with punches and elbows. Lee is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kaluma thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kaluma wants to control for a moment but Lee uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Kaluma is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lee defends it well. Kaluma thows a huge punch but Lee dodges it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaluma keeps the fight on the outside. Lee walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kaluma. Lee gets caught flat footed, as Kaluma shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kaluma thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kaluma lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Kaluma missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kaluma with a nice head shot there. Kaluma advances to half guard.

Kaluma wants to free his trapped foot but Lee is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kaluma really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kaluma looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Lee is staying active underneath Kaluma, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Kaluma lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kiko Kaluma clearly takes that round. That's time! Kaluma's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Kaluma clinches up with Lee and pushes him back against the ropes. Kaluma escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kiko Kaluma is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kaluma tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kaluma somewhat. Kaluma fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lee, pushing him back against the ropes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kaluma tries for a takedown but Lee manages to get underhooks.
Lee is pressed up against the ropes. Kaluma has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lee down to the mat. Lee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kiko Kaluma. That's going to take a lot out of him. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Kaluma swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Kaluma. No joy for Lee on that attempt. Lee lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Kaluma throws a sloppy head kick and Lee moves into the clinch. Lee stops a takedown attempt from Kaluma.

Kaluma ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kaluma no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Lee prevents Kaluma from getting back to his feet. Lee stands up and waves to Kaluma to follow him. Kaluma motions for Lee to come forward. Kaluma throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kaluma shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Lee counters with a single leg into guard. Kaluma didn't expect that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lee postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Kaluma is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lee wants to get up but he can't break Kaluma's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Lee trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kaluma shoots in and drives through. Lee sprawls well. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Kaluma throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lee was covering up waiting for the punch and Kaluma finishes the takedown easily into guard. Lee avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Lee keeping moving, preventing Kaluma from controlling successfully. Kaluma stands up and waves to Lee to follow him. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lee is defended easily by Kaluma.
