Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Big Chis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Viktor Antipov! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Antipov shoots in and bounces Chis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Antipov prevents Chis from getting back to his feet. Antipov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chis swivels though and keeps the full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Antipov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Antipov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Antipov. Antipov wants to control from the top but Chis keeps moving. Chis has his foot on Antipov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Antipov works his way back into a safe position though. Antipov throws and elbow that misses. Chis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Antipov's guard. Nice move by Chis! Chis stopping the sweep attempt from Antipov.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chis tries to free his leg and advance position but Antipov is retaining full guard. Chis won't allow Antipov to sweep him here. Antipov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Antipov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Antipov looking to finish with strikes here!
Antipov moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Chis has worked his arm free - good work by Chis!

Antipov in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Antipov tries to score with some ground and pound. Chis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Antipov fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Chis is trying to control Antipov's posture but Antipov avoids it. Antipov trying to control the action but Chis is working from the bottom. Antipov working the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chis keeping his opponent close. Chis is looking to regain half guard here but Antipov keeps moving and retains side control. Antipov cracks Chis with a big right hand but Chis just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Antipov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Antipov connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Chis some visible discomfort.
Chis tries to improve position but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Antipov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chis, who protects the arm well. You can see the frustration on Chis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Chis takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Antipov lands a decent elbow from side control. Antipov is putting a hurting on Chis here, landing some big shots from side control. Antipov misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Chis struggling a bit here. Antipov scoring with punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Viktor Antipov dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Antipov defending well as Chis loads up on a big left hand. Antipov cracks Chis with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Antipov lands with a hook. Chis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Chis gets a takedown into half guard. Chis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Antipov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Chis lands strikes from half guard. Chis prevents Antipov from improving his position. Antipov is staying active underneath Chis, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Antipov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Chis working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Antipov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Chis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Chis's back! Chis tries to escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chis covering up well and avoiding damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chis trying to get back to his feet but Antipov is in full control for now. Antipov is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Antipov gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Antipov gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Antipov apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Big Chis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Antipov connects with a single shot there. Antipov works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Viktor Antipov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chis lands in his opponent's guard. Chis stopping the sweep attempt from Antipov. Chis looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chis is working hard here to advance position. Antipov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Antipov has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Chis in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! Antipov breaks from Chis's wrist control and lands an elbow. Antipov thowing shots but they're missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Antipov lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Antipov fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Chis is rocked! Antipov postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Chis out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Antipov goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
