3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mordecai Wollsey! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wollsey gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Wollsey misses with a hook from the clinch. Wollsey gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from The Boss.
The Boss fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Wollsey has The Boss pushed against the cage. The crowd are getting on Wollsey's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. The Boss drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A bit of stalling here from Wollsey.
Wollsey cracks The Boss with a nice body shot. Wollsey lands with a short head shot on the inside. Wollsey works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Wollsey lands a body shot. The Boss manages to pull guard.
Wollsey trying to control the position from guard on top but The Boss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wollsey decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on The Boss, up you get!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wollsey clinches. Wollsey is pushing The Boss up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Wollsey stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Wollsey. Wollsey lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. The Boss is breathing heavily. Wollsey softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Wollsey works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Wollsey makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. The Boss changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wollsey fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ross The Boss. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wollsey thuds a left hand into The Boss's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice uppercut lands for Wollsey. That snapped The Boss's head back.
A shot to the liver by Wollsey. Beautiful body shot. Wollsey fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wollsey looks to land a combination but The Boss avoids it well. Wollsey clinches with his opponent.
The Boss has Wollsey pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wollsey manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Wollsey is struggling to control the position. Wollsey lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Wollsey works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Wollsey lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. The Boss's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Boss is trying to push Wollsey away but Wollsey has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Wollsey leaning his opponent against the cage. Wollsey is working The Boss over against the cage. Wollsey lands on the inside with an uppercut. Wollsey lands a shoulder strike. Wollsey digs a right hand underneath The Boss's ribcage. The Boss let out a lung full of air as it connected. Wollsey working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A nice right hand lands inside from Wollsey. A short right from Wollsey on the inside. A hook to the body from Wollsey.
Wollsey slowing the pace effectively. Wollsey scores with a nice hook to the head. Nice body punch from Wollsey. Wollsey is pushing The Boss up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. That's four minutes gone in the round. Wollsey lands an uppercut. Wollsey lands a nice uppercut. The Boss goes for a takedown attempt but Wollsey pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The Boss is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The Boss is rocked! Wollsey feints with a jab and clips The Boss right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! The Boss is sent crashing into the canvas and Wollsey leaps in for the kill! The Boss tries to get to his feet but Wollsey is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that The Boss is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mordecai Wollsey!
