Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Octo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and chuck liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). liddell has chosen ain't no sunshine as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Octo rushes liddell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Octo lands a body punch.
Octo can't get the takedown.
Octo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The referee calls for Octo to work.
liddell is trying to break free.
liddell can't break the clinch.
Octo prevents liddell from breaking the clinch.
Octo goes for a takedown in the clinch but liddell prevents it.
liddell has had enough of the clinch but Octo keeps him there for the moment.
Octo content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Octo drags the fight down to the ground.
liddell wants to stand and escape but instead Octo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Octo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
liddell wants to stand but Octo is controlling the position.

Octo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! liddell is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! liddell has escaped and now he's on top!
Octo has a closed guard, preventing liddell from standing up.
Octo has his hands on liddell 's head, controlling the position.
Octo wants to stand up but liddell is controlling him.
Octo is breathing heavily.
liddell tries to stand but Octo is controlling from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
liddell wants to control from the top but Octo keeps moving.
liddell is looking to stand up but Octo won't let him.
liddell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Octo looking to hit a scissor sweep but liddell is one step ahead there.
Octo lands a decent punch to the body there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
liddell misses with a low kick as Octo jumps back.

Octo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Octo stalls.
liddell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Octo keeps control of liddell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Octo breaks from the clinch.

liddell lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Octo at a distance.
liddell swinging wilding here.
liddell throws out a powerful jab.
liddell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Octo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by liddell . liddell obviously looking to wear him down.
liddell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Octo moves into range and clinches up with liddell .
Octo is stalling here.
liddell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Octo prevents liddell from breaking the clinch.

Octo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Octo shoots in and bounces liddell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Octo slips nicely into half guard.
liddell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Octo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Octo controlling the pace.

Octo decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
liddell lands a body shot. liddell tries to bum rush Octo with a series of wild strikes but Octo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
liddell fakes the leg kick and cracks Octo in the body.
liddell lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Octo is rocked!
Octo fails to land the takedown.
Oh Octo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Octo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Octo tries to clinch up but liddell circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

liddell gets caught flat footed, as Octo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Octo postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Octo won't allow liddell to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but chuck liddell will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Octo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Octo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Octo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Octo seems to have got his legs back now.
Octo misses with a head kick.
liddell looks to land a body kick but Octo moved away.
Octo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
liddell lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Octo can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from liddell and Octo drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by liddell .
