Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilya Skvortsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Fyodorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fyodorov tries to clinch
and Skvortsov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Fyodorov lands a head kick. Skvortsov smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Ilya Skvortsov has been cut.

Fyodorov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fyodorov is looking to advance position but Skvortsov won't allow it.
Skvortsov is staying active underneath Fyodorov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

and Skvortsov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fyodorov's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fyodorov wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Skvortsov manages to pass to side control.

Skvortsov tries for a takedown but Fyodorov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Skvortsov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Skvortsov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fyodorov keeps working.
The strikes coming from Skvortsov are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Skvortsov stands up and beckons Fyodorov to his feet.
Skvortsov takes a kick to the side of the head.
Skvortsov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Fyodorov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Skvortsov scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Skvortsov gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Skvortsov throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Fyodorov misses with a knee to the head.

Skvortsov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Fyodorov counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fyodorov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Skvortsov has his foot on Fyodorov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fyodorov works his way back into a safe position though.
Fyodorov wants to stand but Skvortsov has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Fyodorov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Skvortsov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fyodorov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Skvortsov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Skvortsov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Fyodorov has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fyodorov tries for a takedown but Skvortsov circles away easily

Skvortsov moves to clinch but Fyodorov breaks away

and Skvortsov holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Skvortsov is looking for a sweep. Fyodorov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Skvortsov has one foot on Fyodorov's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Fyodorov leaves Skvortsov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Fyodorov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fyodorov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Skvortsov bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Skvortsov passes Fyodorov's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Fyodorov is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Skvortsov has latched onto it... Big trouble! Skvortsov pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Fyodorov is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Skvortsov!
