Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jim Earts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Serj Tankian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Serj Tankian is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Earts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Serj Tankian! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick by Tankian misses enabling Earts to counter with a crisp jab. Earts avoids the head kick by Tankian.
Earts moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Tankian tries to clinch but fails miserably and Earts counters with a takedown into side control. Tankian can't do much from the bottom here. Earts staying calm. Earts moves into full mount! Earts controlling his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Earts's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Earts landing strikes from the mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Earts lands a big elbow. Earts pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Earts working away from the top, dropping strikes. Earts avoids the attempt from Tankian to control. Tankian is working to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tankian is trying to stand. Tankian really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Earts controlling the position easily from mount. Earts scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Tankian?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Earts tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Tankian tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Earts dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Earts looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Earts controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Earts has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Tankian had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Earts defends it easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Earts is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Earts won't allow Tankian to get back to his feet. Earts showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Earts wasn't doing enough on the ground. Tankian takes a shot right to the bread basket. Tankian tries to sprawl but Earts drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tankian is trying to maintain the position but Earts is very close to passing his half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Earts in particular looking to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Earts landing strikes from the mount and Tankian is in trouble! Earts prevents Tankian from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Earts dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Tankian misses with an uppercut
so Earts counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Earts controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Tankian wants to stand up but Earts is controlling him. Earts in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Earts's corner is telling him to maintain position. Tankian keeping full guard, as Earts tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Earts is pushing down on Tankian's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tankian is fighting to maintain full guard but Earts has managed to sneak the leg through. Tankian looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Earts not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Tankian is trying to control but Earts manages to pass to mount!
Tankian takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Earts is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Earts!
