Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mungo misses with an uppercut
and Impaler counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Impaler sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mungo defending well though.
Impaler thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mungo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mungo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Impaler is working away from the top position though.
Mungo is refusing to be controlled, as Impaler sits in half guard.

Mungo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Impaler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Impaler counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Impaler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Impaler drops back looking for a leg! Mungo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mungo manages to kick Impaler off! Impaler jumps back into Mungo's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Impaler is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mungo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mungo shrugs it off.
Impaler takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Impaler looking to control but Mungo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mungo is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Impaler has hold of Mungo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mungo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Impaler is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mungo has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mungo wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Impaler.

Impaler wants to finish this one by submission but Mungo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Impaler.
Impaler throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Impaler is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Impaler extends the arm and Mungo is forced to tap!
