Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Sinclair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Cordoza!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sinclair shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cordoza is trying to defend but Sinclair finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Cordoza trying to control from the bottom.
Cordoza moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Cordoza wants to sweep here but Sinclair controlling him for the moment.
Sinclair stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cordoza swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cordoza is looking to stand up but Sinclair isn't so interested in that idea.
Cordoza tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cordoza doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Cordoza wants to sweep here but Sinclair controlling him for the moment.
Cordoza is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sinclair wants to pass the guard but Cordoza is keeping the position.

Cordoza is looking for a triangle but Sinclair pushes his legs off easily.

Cordoza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sinclair can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sinclair controls from within his opponent's guard.

Cordoza is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sinclair's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Cordoza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sinclair can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cordoza is looking for a triangle here but Sinclair uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Cordoza lands a jab to the nose.

Sinclair dives in and scores a takedown into Cordoza's guard.

Cordoza is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Sinclair jumps into side control!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sinclair passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Cordoza throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Sinclair content to control rather than advance.

Cordoza looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Cordoza is looking for a sweep. Sinclair is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sinclair takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cordoza tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tony Sinclair just wasn't active enough.
Cordoza has his takedown stuffed

and Sinclair counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cordoza!
Sinclair prevents Cordoza from getting the reversal.
Sinclair content just to control the position here.
Sinclair has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Sinclair dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Cordoza fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sinclair manages to avoid it.

Well, if Sinclair is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Cordoza won't allow Sinclair to pass to mount.
Sinclair prevents Cordoza from improving his position.

Tony Sinclair overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cordoza throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Sinclair stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cordoza swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cordoza looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Sinclair has picked Cordoza up and slammed him! Cordoza can't keep hold of the triangle and Sinclair manages to pass to side control!
Sinclair is staying tight to Cordoza's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Cordoza manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sinclair's best efforts.

Sinclair scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Cordoza is not content to let Sinclair control the position.
Sinclair slows the pace down in half guard.
Cordoza is looking to control Sinclair's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cordoza avoid being mounted?
Tony Sinclair is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sinclair with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Ronnie Cordoza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cordoza is trying to stand up here but Sinclair is controlling him well.

Tony Sinclair showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sinclair, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
