The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Handcock swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Handcock tries to clinch but Nelson moves away and Nelson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Handcock's guard now. Nelson throws a strike but Handcock rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Nelson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Nelson wants to sweep here but Handcock controlling him for the moment.

Nelson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Handcock is surviving well by controlling Nelson's body position as best he can. Nelson throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Handcock got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nelson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Nelson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Handcock's guard. Nelson throws a strike aimed at the side of Handcock's head but Handcock avoids it well. Nelson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Handcock, who protects the arm well. Nelson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nelson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Nelson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Handcock tries to clinch up and Nelson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Handcock is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. The referee is keeping an eye on Nelson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Nelson continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Handcock prevents the takedown attempt.
Nelson jumps guard but Handcock stands there with Nelson around his waist. Nelson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Handcock working some nice short punches in the clinch. Handcock prevents a body shot from Nelson. Handcock lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Handcock working hard to break the clinch. Handcock throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Handcock is trying to force a seperation but Nelson has the dominant position. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Handcock is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nelson scores with a couple of nice shots. Nelson wants to pass the guard but Handcock is defending well. Nelson is looking for a kimura but Handcock is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nelson to get the leverage. Jimmy Nelson has got the better of the ground game so far.
