Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keiko Nakatomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keiko Nakatomi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Martin!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakatomi falls off balance throwing a combination
and Martin counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Nakatomi throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Martin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nakatomi won't be happy with that.
Nakatomi trying to remain calm as Martin controls from the top position.
Nakatomi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Martin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Martin is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Nakatomi will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
It looks like Martin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Nakatomi is looking to reverse the position.
Nakatomi is trying to work for a sweep but Martin has mounted him!

Martin working for a guillotine from mount but Nakatomi is in no mood to give up.
Nakatomi gets back to half guard.
Martin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Nakatomi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Martin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Martin is looking to take a break and control but Nakatomi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Martin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nakatomi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Nakatomi wants to get back to full guard but Martin has mounted him!

Nakatomi is squirming around, avoiding Martin's attempts to control the action.
Martin throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Martin landing strikes from the mount and Nakatomi is in trouble!

The referee warns Nakatomi that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Martin controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Martin dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Nakatomi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Martin circles away quickly and effectively.
Nakatomi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Martin counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Martin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nakatomi but Nakatomi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakatomi misses with a left hand

and Martin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nakatomi wants to sweep here but Martin controlling him for the moment.
Martin wants to control from the top but Nakatomi keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nakatomi kicks Martin off and gets to his feet.
Nakatomi throws an off balance right hand

and Martin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martin is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Nakatomi!

Martin lands with some strikes.
Martin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Nakatomi is bucking up trying to escape but Martin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Martin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Martin throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nakatomi because Martin loaded up on that one.

Nakatomi is in all sorts of trouble here.

Nakatomi wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Paul Martin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Nakatomi tries to reverse the position but Martin maintains control.
Nakatomi is in a horrible position here. Martin smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Martin misses with some ground and pound and Nakatomi recovers position to half guard.

Martin is keen to just control but Nakatomi is a slippery customer.

Martin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nakatomi sees it coming and defends easily.

Martin not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Martin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Martin tries to pass to full mount but Nakatomi defends it.

Martin is trying to work for a kimura but Nakatomi is defending well.
Martin is trying to control. Nakatomi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Martin circles away from the clinch attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Martin is defended easily by Nakatomi.
Nakatomi misses with a left hand
and Martin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Martin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nakatomi.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakatomi tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Martin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nakatomi's guard now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nakatomi's head.
Martin looking to sit in guard and control but Nakatomi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Martin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Martin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Nakatomi tries to hold on but Martin pushes him away.
Martin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nakatomi is looking to escape.
Nakatomi is trying to escape the mount.
Martin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Nakatomi is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Nakatomi takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


Nakatomi is rocked!
Martin cracks Nakatomi with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
