Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Da Giant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makebono Bowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giant comes to the cage accompanied by Eye of the Tiger. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Makebono Bowen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowen moves to clinch but Giant breaks away
and Giant counters with a leg kick.
Bowen throws a combination that misses

and Giant counters by moving into the clinch.
Giant is trying to break the clinch but Bowen is controlling him.
Bowen digs a right hand underneath Giant's ribcage. Giant let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Giant's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bowen lands a big head kick that sends Giant tumbling to the mat! Bowen takes a step backwards and waves Giant back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Da Giant has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bowen looks to land a left hand but Giant moved out of range nicely.
Bowen closes the distance looking to clinch
and Giant cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bowen wants to clinch but Giant slips to the side

and Giant counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bowen wants to stand and escape but Giant is having none of it.
Giant looking to sit in guard and control but Bowen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Giant is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Giant is working an open guard so Bowen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Bowen closes the distance but Giant moves to the side

and Giant moves into the clinch.
Bowen can't break the clinch.
Giant wants to break the clinch but can't.

Giant's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bowen tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Giant counters with a body kick.
Bowen looks gassed!

Bowen tries to clinch but Giant moves away

and Giant counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Giant tries for a kimura but Bowen is defending well.
Bowen takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Giant goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bowen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Giant's guard! Nice work there by Bowen!

Bowen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Giant is proving hard to escape from.

Bowen won't allow Giant to sweep him here.

and Giant counters with a body kick that stops Bowen in his tracks momentarily.
Bowen moves to clinch but Giant breaks away

and Giant counters with a shoot takedown. Bowen fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Giant forces his way into half guard.

Giant is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bowen has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bowen tries to kick Giant off but Giant keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Giant wants to work for an arm triangle but Bowen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bowen is trying to stand.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bowen kicks off Giant and gets to his feet.
Bowen wants to clinch but Giant slips to the side
and Giant counters with a nice body kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bowen darts in trying to clinch

and Giant counters with a nice double leg into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Da Giant dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Giant's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Bowen closes the distance but Giant moves to the side

and Giant counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Giant gets to his feet. Bowen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Giant closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Giant misses with a knee strike.
Bowen throws a knee to the head but misses.

Bowen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bowen wants to clinch

and Giant counters by clinching up.
Giant wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bowen has him pressed against the cage.
Giant misses with a punch to the body.
Bowen tries to break the clinch but Giant is controlling the position.
Giant tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bowen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Giant tries to stall but Bowen uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bowen prevents Giant from breaking the clinch.
Giant wants to get back to striking at distance but Bowen won't allow it.

Bowen breaks the clinch.
Bowen looks to clinch

and Giant counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bowen!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You get the feeling that Bowen really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Bowen has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Bowen is trying to get back to his feet but Giant has full control of the position and if anything, Bowen has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Bowen is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Giant looking to break Bowen's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bowen remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Giant will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Bowen is trying to stand back up.
