Steve Fisher has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Burton!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fisher avoids it really well and circles away.
Fisher steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Burton.
Burton throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fisher takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Burton throws a jab when Fisher was well out of range.
Fisher closes the distance but Burton moves to the side
and Burton counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Burton just misses with a punch to the body.
Burton with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Burton jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Burton misses with a takedown attempt - Fisher sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Burton scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Burton throws a poor cross that misses
and Fisher counters with a head kick. That will keep Burton thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Fisher feints and as Burton raises his hands in defense, Fisher changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Fisher pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burton is keeping the position for now.
Burton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Burton wants to sweep here but Fisher controlling him for the moment.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Burton lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fisher!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fisher tries to buck Burton off but he can't manage it.
Fisher manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Fisher is trying to stand back up but Burton is controlling him

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burton is looking to advance position but Fisher won't allow it.
Fisher trying to control here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Burton keeps the fight on the outside.
Burton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fisher was well out of range. Poor timing from Burton.
Burton misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Fisher counters with a nice double leg into side control. Burton won't be happy with that.
Burton is looking to reverse the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Fisher tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Fisher is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Burton looks calm but he's in trouble here. Fisher gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Burton is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Fisher lets go of the hold and Burton can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Steve Fisher!
