Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Turnbuckle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackie Gleason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackie Gleason told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Turnbuckle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackie Gleason! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gleason scores with a jab. Turnbuckle acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Turnbuckle shoots for a takedown but Gleason saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Turnbuckle shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Turnbuckle was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Turnbuckle manages to capitalize on a mistake by Gleason to take his back! Turnbuckle throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gleason is in bad spot here.
Gleason is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gleason looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Gleason is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Gleason is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Gleason tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's one minute gone in the round. Gleason keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gleason reaches up to try and control the position but Turnbuckle seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Gleason rolls and tries to escape and now Turnbuckle has his back!
I really don't envy Gleason right now.
Turnbuckle connects with a big shot to the side of Gleason's head.
Turnbuckle is breathing heavily. Gleason trying to control the hands but Turnbuckle breaks the grip. Even with his hooks in, Turnbuckle manages to miss with strikes from the back. Gleason looking very determined here, making life difficult for Turnbuckle.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Turnbuckle working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Gleason turns into Turnbuckle and is now in his guard.
Gleason must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Turnbuckle keeping moving, preventing Gleason from controlling successfully. Turnbuckle is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Turnbuckle looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gleason is one step ahead there. Turnbuckle looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Turnbuckle escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gleason gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Gleason wants to stand but Turnbuckle has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Gleason with a flurry of punches that miss. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gleason accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gleason trying to stand up but can't free himself from Turnbuckle's guard. Turnbuckle is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Turnbuckle can't keep his opponent in guard - Gleason advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Gleason wants to get back to his feet.
Turnbuckle tries to get to full guard but Gleason has control of the leg.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Turnbuckle circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gleason wants to clinch up but Turnbuckle keeps it at a distance. Turnbuckle fails to land the takedown. Gleason clinches up against the cage. Gleason wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Turnbuckle dominated that round. That's time! Turnbuckle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Turnbuckle tries to clinch but Gleason is having none of it. Turnbuckle looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gleason! Turnbuckle is working for a guillotine from mount but Gleason frees his head quite easily.
Turnbuckle thowing shots but they're missing. Turnbuckle wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Gleason throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Turnbuckle avoids the attempt from Gleason to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gleason wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gleason showing good submission defense here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turnbuckle keeps control of the position as Gleason tries to break free.
Gleason avoids the strikes from Turnbuckle. Turnbuckle controlling well, preventing Gleason from escaping the position.
Turnbuckle is not going to allow Gleason to sit and survive in this position. I really don't envy Gleason right now.
Gleason covers up after that shot from Turnbuckle.
Turnbuckle misses with an elbow to the head. Gleason preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Turnbuckle. Gleason is trying to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gleason is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Turnbuckle gets his way!
Turnbuckle has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Turnbuckle has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Gleason has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Turnbuckle avoiding Gleason 's attempts to control his hands. Turnbuckle lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Turnbuckle punishes Gleason with strikes from the back mount. Josh Turnbuckle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gleason looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Gleason really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Turnbuckle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gleason breaks Turnbuckle's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Gleason looking to pass the guard. Gleason trying to control but Turnbuckle is working from the bottom. Gleason postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Gleason throws a push kick but Turnbuckle slaps the foot to one side. Gleason thows a body kick. Turnbuckle tries to catch it but that hurt him. Gleason shoots and misses and Turnbuckle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Turnbuckle chips away with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gleason keeping moving, preventing Turnbuckle from controlling successfully. Turnbuckle trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Gleason is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Turnbuckle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gleason is keeping the position for now. Turnbuckle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Turnbuckle wants to control from the top but Gleason keeps moving. Gleason pulls Turnbuckle in to control the position. Turnbuckle trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Turnbuckle slips nicely into half guard. Turnbuckle is keen to just control but Gleason is a slippery customer. Gleason pushes Turnbuckle off looking to stand but Turnbuckle dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Turnbuckle dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Turnbuckle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Gleason with a poor takedown and Turnbuckle counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gleason won't be happy with that. Gleason tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Turnbuckle wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Gleason regains half guard. Gleason controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Gleason wants to improve his position but Turnbuckle is controlling well.
Gleason flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Gleason is not content to let Turnbuckle control the position. Turnbuckle is thwarting Gleason's attempts to control the position. Gleason won't allow Turnbuckle to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gleason tries to roll over but Turnbuckle keeps him under control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A head kick misses from Gleason. Gleason shoots in for a takedown but Turnbuckle shows good takedown defense. Turnbuckle misses with a takedown attempt - Gleason sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Gleason tries to clinch but Turnbuckle moves out of range. Gleason gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Turnbuckle makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Josh Turnbuckle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackie Gleason. Turnbuckle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gleason is trying to get back to his feet. Turnbuckle is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gleason knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Turnbuckle advances to full mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gleason tries to reverse the position but Turnbuckle maintains control. Gleason looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! I really don't envy Gleason right now.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Turnbuckle. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Will Turnbuckle go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Turnbuckle prevents Gleason from getting the reversal. Turnbuckle won't let Gleason get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Turnbuckle lands with some strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Turnbuckle lands a big elbow - Gleason is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Gleason is forced to tap out!
