PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Captain Couragous (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Bonzarino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Couragous comes to the cage accompanied by T.N.T. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couragous dodges the punch combination from Bonzarino.
Jab, jab by Bonzarino - just one landing.
Sloppy strikes from Bonzarino. Those never looked like landing.
Bonzarino looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Bonzarino tries to keep at a distance but Couragous has taken the fight into the clinch.
Bonzarino has had enough of the clinch but Couragous keeps him there for the moment.

Couragous gets control of Bonzarino's arms and successfully pulls guard. Couragous will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Couragous bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bonzarino's guard.
Bonzarino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Couragous. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Couragous is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Bonzarino is looking to stand up but Couragous isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Couragous works over Bonzarino with some ground and pound from guard.
Couragous might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Couragous stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bonzarino swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Couragous controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bonzarino wants to get back to his feet but Couragous is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bonzarino is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Captain Couragous wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Bonzarino goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bonzarino, as that shot connected.
Couragous takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Bonzarino stuffs the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Couragous throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bonzarino's waist but Bonzarino gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Couragous off to one side.

Couragous clinches.
Couragous is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Captain Couragous. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Couragous tries to pull guard but Bonzarino won't allow it.
Bonzarino letting Couragous take a breather here.
Couragous tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bonzarino smiles and moves away.
Bonzarino's jab looks to have found its range, popping Couragous under the eye.

Couragous misses with a combination
and Bonzarino counters with a two punch combo.
Couragous tries to move into range but Bonzarino moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Bonzarino sizes up Couragous with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Couragous looks for a takedown but Bonzarino sprawls well.
Couragous takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Couragous takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Couragous fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bonzarino avoids it really well and circles away.
Couragous is breathing heavily.
Bonzarino lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bonzarino.
Bonzarino throws a series of strikes that have Couragous backpedaling.
Bonzarino is working the combinations to good effect here.
A right-left combo lands from Bonzarino.

Couragous is rocked!
Bonzarino Rushes Couragous and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Couragous is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Bonzarino Piles on the pressure and Couragous crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
