Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, San Franpsycho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cain Velasquez! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franpsycho misses with an uppercut
and Velasquez counters with a two punch combo. Velasquez swings widly with a right hand
and Franpsycho counters with a left to the body. Franpsycho has Velasquez up against the cage in a clinch.
Franpsycho lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Franpsycho digs a right hand underneath Velasquez's ribcage. Velasquez let out a lung full of air as it connected. Franpsycho lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Franpsycho lands a shot to the body. Franpsycho scores with a hook to the body. Velasquez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Franpsycho just stands there and leans against the cage. Nice body punch from Franpsycho - that landed with a thud.
Velasquez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
That's one minute gone in the round. Franpsycho's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Franpsycho lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Velasquez. Franpsycho stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Franpsycho. A shot in the inside from Franpsycho. A left hand lands to the body for Franpsycho.
Velasquez looks gassed! Franpsycho lands a hook that snaps the head of Velasquez backwards. Franpsycho lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Velasquez backwards. Franpsycho content to slow the pace in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franpsycho gets through Velasquez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Velasquez is rocked! Franpsycho will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Velasquez up against the cage. Franpsycho softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Velasquez is still on wobbly legs! Can Franpsycho finish him? A body shot lands from Franpsycho.
Come on Franpsycho - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Velasquez seems to have recovered his senses. Franpsycho stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Franpsycho holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Franpsycho scores with a nice hook to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franpsycho unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Velasquez! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Franpsycho is unloading with more strikes now! Velasquez drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
