Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conner Magavin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Omar! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Magavin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Omar counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Magavin's guard now. Omar looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Magavin wants to stand up but Omar is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Omar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Magavin is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Magavin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Omar postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Magavin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Omar, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Omar throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Omar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Magavin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Magavin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Omar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Magavin has managed to get both his arms back between Omar's legs - danger averted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Omar controls Magavin momentarily but Magavin frees himself. Magavin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Omar is proving hard to escape from. Omar working for submissions but it's allowed Magavin to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Omar is trying is best to control the position here. Omar is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Pedro Omar hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Magavin misses with a lunging right hand
and Omar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Omar has gone for a leg lock! Magavin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Omar's guard. Magavin wanted to stand there but Omar had control of the position. Omar seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pedro Omar dominated that round. That's time! Magavin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Omar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Magavin is just riding it out for now. Omar eventually gives up the hold. Magavin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Omar on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Omar is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Magavin sees it coming and defends easily. Omar is keen to just control but Magavin is a slippery customer. Omar is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Omar is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Omar is looking to take a break and control but Magavin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Omar passes to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magavin is looking to reverse the position. Omar goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Magavin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Omar's guard! Nice work there by Magavin! Omar is trying to control the position but Magavin postures up. Omar is controlling Magavin's posture. Omar wants to control the position but Magavin says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Pedro Omar has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Magavin tries to stand but can't do so whilst Omar controls his leg. Omar is trying to control but can't.
Magavin tries to stand and escape but Omar is controlling the position. Omar is controlling Magavin's trapped leg to prevent Magavin from advancing to side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Omar is trying to maintain the position but Magavin is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pedro Omar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Omar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Omar has an Americana. Magavin didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Omar is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Omar hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
