Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Barack Obama!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaze lands with a shot to the body.
Obama moves out of range of the body kick from Blaze.
Blaze throws a series of punches but Obama moves out of range.
Obama avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Obama misses with a kick to the body.
Blaze fails in his attempt to clinch.

Obama has closed the distance and engaged Blaze in a clinch.
Obama tries to pull guard but Blaze won't allow it.
Obama landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Blaze has had enough of the clinch but Obama keeps him there for the moment.
Blaze wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Obama turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Blaze is looking to regain half guard here but Obama keeps moving and retains side control.
Blaze tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Obama is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Blaze has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Blaze!

Blaze drops back, looking for a kneebar! Obama looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Obama looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Obama!

Obama's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Obama is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Blaze can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Blaze wants to try and get back to his feet.
Obama fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Blaze tries to reverse the position but Obama maintains control.
Blaze is working hard here to advance position.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Obama shoots in looking for a takedown. Blaze tries to sprawl out of it but Obama keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Blaze manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Obama takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Blaze lands a jab-cross combination.

so Obama counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Obama is still in real trouble! Can Blaze finish him?
Blaze on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Blaze tries to get out of the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Obama lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
You can see the frustration on Blaze's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Obama. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Obama has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Blaze has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Obama just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Let's hope that Obama has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
