Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Yu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leandro Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Die Antwoord - Enter The Ninja. Alves has chosen Damian Marley - Welcome To Jamrock as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Yu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Leandro Alves! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yu doesn't manage to clinch there - Alves circles away.
Yu darts in trying to clinch and Alves counters with a left to the body. Yu throws a left and a right that both miss
and Alves connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Alves throws a low kick but it's checked well by Yu. Yu looks to clinch and Alves counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Alves scores with a body shot.
Alves lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Yu closes the distance but Alves moves to the side and Alves connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Yu closes the distance but Alves moves to the side and Alves counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yu wants to clinch but Alves slips to the side and Alves counters with a nice uppercut. Yu misses with a double jab
and Alves counters with a straight right hand. Yu throws a combination that misses and Alves cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Yu rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Alves counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yu thinking. Yu tries to clinch and Alves counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Alves seems to be looking for submissions.
Alves tries to pass to full mount but Yu defends it. Yu is staying active underneath Alves, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Alves performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves not landing any meaningful shots this time. Alves wants to control but Yu is keeping him busy. Yu won't allow Alves to pass to mount. Alves is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Yu sees it coming and defends easily. Alves trying to control from half guard but Yu is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alves trying to mount his opponent but Yu defends it. Alves is looking for a kimura but Yu is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Alves to get the leverage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves tries to pass to full mount but Yu defends it. Yu wants to get back to his feet. Alves wants to work for an arm triangle but Yu is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Alves is working for a submission of some sort.
Yu is not content to let Alves control the position. Yu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Alves seems to be looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Yu tries to kick Alves off but Alves keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Alves is looking to pass Yu's guard but actually Yu recovers to full guard. Yu wants to stand and escape but Alves is having none of it. Alves postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Alves thows a big elbow that misses. Alves thows a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yu keeping full guard, as Alves tries to pass. Yu can't keep his opponent in guard - Alves advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leandro Alves dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Yu tries to clinch but fails miserably and Alves counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Yu tries to clinch but Alves moves away and Alves counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Mike Yu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alves throws a sloppy head kick and Yu moves out of range easily. Yu misses with a combination
and Alves counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yu won't be happy with that. Alves wants to control but Yu is keeping him busy. Yu prevents Alves from moving into mount. Alves thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yu is not content to let Alves control the position. Alves has an Americana. Yu didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Alves is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Alves hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
