PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gk King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oschino Swift (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is ACDC- Thunderstruck. Swift has chosen Tupac Shakur - Never had a Friend Like Me as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oschino Swift!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swift swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
A punch combination from Swift misses.
Oschino Swift seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King misses with a low kick.
Swift has his takedown stuffed
and King counters with a right hand to the body.
Swift with a lazy takedown attempt
and Swift takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and King counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gk King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oschino Swift.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Swift fakes high and swings low for a body shot but King manages to avoid it.
Swift ducks down and throws a hook to the body but King moves away.
King attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
King blocks a head kick by Swift.

King closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Swift's guard.

King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Swift swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Swift is looking for a sweep. King is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Swift has a hand on King's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. King takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

King has control of Swift's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Swift regains control of the situation pretty easily.
King breaks from Swift's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Swift is rocked!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Swift wants to control but King is having none of it.

King is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Swift can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

King looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Swift seems to have recovered his senses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Swift sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
King is thwarting Swift's attempts to control the position.

King feints and then cracks Swift's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Swift down.

Swift is trying desperately to land a takedown but King is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Swift.
Swift is breathing heavily.

and King counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

King looks to score with a jab to the body but Swift is just out of range.
King looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
King lands a nice looking kick to the body. Swift takes a step back to recover.

King is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Swift's half guard.
King prevents Swift from improving his position.
Swift is staying active underneath King, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Swift is trying to defend against the ground and pound but King scores with a couple of nice shots.

King is nestled in close to Swift, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
