Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Afonso Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Your Fear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace. Your Fear has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Afonso Lucas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Your Fear!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas moves into range and clinches up with Fear.
Fear escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fear has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fear tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Fear tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lucas just stands there and leans against the cage.
Fear breaks from the clinch.
Lucas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fear is fending him off so far but Lucas persists. Nope, Fear circles away and we're back to standing.
Lucas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fear as he avoids it easily.
Lucas darts in and clinches Fear up against the cage.
Fear prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Afonso Lucas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fear tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Fear on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Lucas tries to stall but Fear uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Lucas lands a takedown into guard.
Lucas working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fear's head.
Fear keeping moving, preventing Lucas from controlling successfully.
Lucas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Fear lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lucas!
Fear punishing his opponent with strikes.

Fear tries to control but Lucas wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lucas bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Lucas stands and throws Fear's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lucas decides to stand back up. Lucas steps back and let's Fear get back to his feet.
Fear wants to clinch but Lucas slips to the side
and Lucas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fear won't be happy with that.
Fear tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lucas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fear manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lucas's best efforts.
Fear won't allow Lucas to pass to mount.
Lucas is breathing heavily.
Fear wants to control but Lucas is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lucas prevents Fear from improving his position.
Fear is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Lucas pulls his head out easily.
Fear tries to get to full guard but Lucas has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lucas passes to full mount!
Lucas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lucas landing strikes from the mount and Fear is in trouble!
Fear really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Fear tries to hold on but Lucas postures up.
Lucas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fear is looking to escape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lucas landing punches.
Fear is trying to escape the mount.
Lucas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lucas putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Lucas fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Lucas has hold of Fear's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fear manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Lucas jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Fear is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Fear and Lucas has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Fear sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Lucas passes to side control.
Lucas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lucas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fear keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lucas has hold of Fear's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Fear tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lucas cranks the arm and Fear screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Fear, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Afonso Lucas!
