Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DJ Pencil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shigetoshi Kaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaga is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Fighting 17th - Hans Zimmer. DJ Pencil has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, DJ Pencil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shigetoshi Kaga! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pencil closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Kaga looking for a takedown. Pencil is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Kaga gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Kaga tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DJ Pencil. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kaga pulls Pencil into guard.
Kaga not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pencil thows a big elbow that misses. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Pencil loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kaga looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pencil is one step ahead there. Kaga is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pencil wants to control from the top but Kaga keeps moving. Kaga wants to sweep but no luck.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Kaga closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kaga creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Pencil regains half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kaga in particular looking to stall. Pencil trying to control here.
Pencil tries to kick Kaga off but Kaga keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Kaga is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kaga looks gassed! Pencil is refusing to be controlled, as Kaga sits in half guard. Pencil is pressing down on Kaga's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Pencil keeping moving, preventing Kaga from controlling successfully. Pencil has his hands on Kaga's head, controlling the position. Kaga avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kaga would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Pencil seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Pencil had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kaga is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pencil Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kaga's back instead.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Pencil working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Pencil doesn't have the hooks in and Kaga manages to turn into his guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pencil pulls Kaga in close to prevent any damage. Pencil wants to sweep here but Kaga controlling him for the moment. Pencil throwing short punches from the bottom. Kaga trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pencil kicks Kaga off and gets to his feet. Pencil with a poor takedown and Pencil takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Kaga shoots and misses and Pencil counters with a single leg into guard. Kaga didn't expect that. Kaga lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pencil! Kaga is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pencil has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pencil! Kaga working for submissions but it's allowed Pencil to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaga looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pencil is working for a submission of some sort.
Pencil is thwarting Kaga's attempts to control the position. Kaga wants to get back to full guard. Pencil wants to control but Kaga is keeping him busy. Pencil is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kaga is just riding it out for now. Pencil eventually gives up the hold. Kaga tries to roll over but Pencil keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DJ Pencil dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.
Pencil misses with a wild body shot. Kaga tries to clinch but Pencil is having none of it. Kaga tries for a takedown but Pencil circles away easily and Pencil counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kaga's knee momentarily. Kaga throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pencil shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kaga keeping full guard, as Pencil tries to pass. Kaga can't keep his opponent in guard - Pencil advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Still in half guard, Pencil seems content to control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pencil lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kaga on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Pencil is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pencil working the head and body with strikes. DJ Pencil overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pencil trying to control from half guard but Kaga is working away. Kaga tries to kick Pencil off but Pencil keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Kaga is staying active underneath Pencil, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kaga shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kaga was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kaga has isolated one of Pencil's arms. Pencil looking to fight him off but Kaga twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
