Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Black Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabilondo Soler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gabilondo Soler has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Black Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gabilondo Soler!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight with a lazy takedown attempt
and Soler counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Knight gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Soler connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Knight shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Knight was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Soler sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Knight wants to stand up but Soler is controlling the position.

Soler pushes Knight off looking to stand but Knight dives back in and keeps control.

Soler makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

and Soler counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Soler counters with a single leg into guard. Knight didn't expect that.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Soler is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Knight has his foot on Soler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Soler works his way back into a safe position though.

Soler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Knight has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Soler has managed to get both his arms back between Knight's legs - danger averted.
Soler wants to pass the guard but Knight is keeping the position.
Knight is trying to keep Soler in close.

Soler passes into half guard.
Knight is staying active underneath Soler, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Soler seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Knight keeping hold of Soler's head, controlling as best he can.
Knight has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Soler is working away from the top position though.
Soler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Knight knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Soler passes to side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Knight can't do much from the bottom here.
Knight is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Soler is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Knight prevents Soler from taking his back.
Soler takes Knight's back.
Soler doesn't have the hooks in and Knight manages to turn into his guard.
Soler has a closed guard, preventing Knight from standing up.
Soler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Knight's guard.
Knight controls Soler momentarily but Soler frees himself.

Soler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Soler accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Knight is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Soler wants to control from the top but Knight keeps moving.

Soler pushing down on Knight's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Knight is trying to control but can't.
Soler is taking a breather. Knight says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Knight connecting with a few gentle strikes.
Knight on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Knight tries to get out of the position.
Knight trying to hold on to Soler's head to control him but Soler postures up.
Soler uses his free foot to push down on Knight's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Knight.
Knight has given up his back.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Soler has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Knight's body.
Will Soler go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

so Soler counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Knight not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Soler advances to half guard.

Soler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Knight knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gabilondo Soler hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Knight gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Soler counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Black Knight. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Soler just misses with a punch to the body.

and Soler counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Black Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Soler is pushing down on Knight's leg trying to pass to half guard. Knight is fighting to maintain full guard but Soler has managed to sneak the leg through.

Soler seems to be working for a kimura but Knight defends the submission attempt.

Soler has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Knight tries to lock up and control but Soler gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Soler takes Knight's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Knight is in trouble.

Soler working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Knight is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Soler has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Knight taps out!
