PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Fiddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jagoda Blackberry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Chuck Fiddel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jagoda Blackberry!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fiddel lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Fiddel.


It looks like Jagoda Blackberry has been cut.
Fiddel throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

so Blackberry counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fiddel could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fiddel wants to sweep but no luck.
Fiddel striking off his back but it's not causing Blackberry any problems.

Blackberry stands up and waves to Fiddel to follow him.
Fiddel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Blackberry counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fiddel tries to sprawl but Blackberry drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Blackberry takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Blackberry wants to stand up but Fiddel is controlling the position.
Fiddel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Blackberry seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Blackberry seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Fiddel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jagoda Blackberry hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Fiddel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fiddel wants it to stay on the feet.

Blackberry throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fiddel tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Blackberry is in Fiddel's guard.

It looks like Blackberry might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jagoda Blackberry hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Blackberry counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Blackberry.
Blackberry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Blackberry lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Fiddel misses with a double jab

and Blackberry holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Blackberry tries to pull guard but Fiddel won't allow it.
Chuck Fiddel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jagoda Blackberry.
Fiddel has a couple of punches blocked by Blackberry.
Blackberry is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Fiddel pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Blackberry fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Blackberry tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fiddel is fighting off a takedown attempt but Blackberry is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Fiddel to the mat. Fiddel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Fiddel throws a right and a left that Blackberry avoids nicely.
Fiddel will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Fiddel swats away the attempt to clinch by Blackberry.

Fiddel is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Blackberry takes a little break here. Fiddel wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jagoda Blackberry wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Blackberry counters with a head kick. That will keep Fiddel thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Fiddel gets caught napping as Blackberry dives in and scores a takedown. Fiddel manages to retain guard.

Blackberry has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Fiddel to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Blackberry is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Fiddel pulls down on the head and he's put Blackberry to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Chuck Fiddel!
