Szymanski comes to the cage accompanied by Wiz Khalifa - Black And Yellow. Emelianenko has chosen You are the best around as his entrance music. Andrei Emelianenko has the better chin. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lukasz Szymanski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrei Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Szymanski lands a right hook to the body.
Lukasz Szymanski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slapping leg kick lands for Szymanski.
Szymanski tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Emelianenko was well out of range. Poor timing from Szymanski. Szymanski lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Szymanski swings for the body but Emelianenko moves out of range.
Szymanski thows a leg kick but Emelianenko checks it and Emelianenko counters with a nice double leg into guard. Emelianenko lands a couple of elbows. Szymanski looking to control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Emelianenko wants to pass the guard but Szymanski is keeping the position. Szymanski is looking for a triangle but Emelianenko pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Szymanski looking for a sweep. Not yet Szymanski, not yet. Emelianenko postures up in Szymanski's guard and throws a big left but Szymanski blocks it. Emelianenko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Szymanski has Emelianenko pulled in close to control his posture. Emelianenko stopping the sweep attempt from Szymanski. Emelianenko controls from within his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Szymanski looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Szymanski pulls Emelianenko in close to prevent any damage.
We're going to have a standup here because Lukasz Szymanski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Szymanski throws a predictable looking body shot
and Emelianenko counters with a nice kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Szymanski is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Emelianenko tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Szymanski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Emelianenko checks the leg kick. Szymanski misses with a double jab
and Emelianenko counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Emelianenko throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Szymanski wants to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Emelianenko in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Szymanski is staying active underneath Emelianenko, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Emelianenko is looking for a kimura here.
Szymanski actively working from the bottom here. Szymanski has one foot on Emelianenko's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Szymanski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Szymanski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Emelianenko moves away. A thudding body kick lands there by Emelianenko!
Good shot there by Emelianenko. Szymanski throws a leg kick that is checked and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Szymanski leaves Emelianenko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A low kick from Szymanski is predictable there and Emelianenko counters with a single leg into guard. Szymanski didn't expect that. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Szymanski looking to control.
Emelianenko throws a strike but Szymanski rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Emelianenko has Szymanski pulled in close to control his posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrei Emelianenko dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Emelianenko moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Szymanski is looking to wear down Emelianenko with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Szymanski scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Szymanski misses with a left hand and Emelianenko counters with a nice leg kick. Emelianenko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Szymanski. Szymanski tries a head kick but it misses.
A big left from Szymanski misses. Emelianenko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Szymanski sees it coming and avoids it easily. Szymanski misses the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Szymanski misses with a wild body shot. Emelianenko tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Szymanski avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Emelianenko slips a jab and a cross from Szymanski.
Szymanski misses with a shot to the body and Emelianenko counters with a nice double leg into guard. Szymanski is trying to control the position but Emelianenko postures up. Szymanski wants to sweep here but Emelianenko controlling him for the moment. Szymanski is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Emelianenko throwing strikes but missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Emelianenko throws and elbow that misses. Szymanski uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Emelianenko's guard. Nice move by Szymanski! Szymanski looking to sit in guard and control but Emelianenko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Szymanski looking to hit a scissor sweep but Emelianenko is one step ahead there. Emelianenko sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Szymanski's guard. Emelianenko wants to control but Szymanski is keeping him busy. Emelianenko lands strikes from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko trying to pass the guard but Szymanski defending well. Szymanski makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Szymanski. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Emelianenko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Szymanski is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Emelianenko is working Szymanski over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Emelianenko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Szymanski pulls Emelianenko in close to prevent any damage. Emelianenko looking to pass the guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Szymanski is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
