Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aodhan o hAodha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). o hAodha comes into the arena with Cursum Perficio by Enya blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Shepherd's choice of entrance music: 'My Heart Will Go On' by Celion Dion. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Shepherd!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
o hAodha ducks under a wild hook from Shepherd.
Shepherd looks to throw the jab but o hAodha is out of range.
o hAodha misses with a left hand
and Shepherd counters with a head kick.
o hAodha slips under a jab.
Shepherd throws a wild body kick that o hAodha sees coming a mile off.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Donk. o hAodha catches Shepherd right on the button with a cross.
It looks like Jack Shepherd has been cut.
Jack Shepherd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shepherd throws a right hand that misses
and o hAodha counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shepherd's guard now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shepherd is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Shepherd is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
o hAodha would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
o hAodha drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shepherd manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now o hAodha has Shepherd in his guard.

o hAodha working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shepherd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shepherd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
o hAodha escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shepherd gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

o hAodha had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shepherd defends it easily.
o hAodha keeping moving, preventing Shepherd from controlling successfully.

Shepherd must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Shepherd got a little sloppy there for a moment and o hAodha has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shepherd has managed to get both his arms back between o hAodha's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shepherd postures up and lands a big shot to o hAodha's brow.

o hAodha wants to sweep here but Shepherd controlling him for the moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Shepherd hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
o hAodha seems to be stalking Shepherd here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Shepherd drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
