Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Z (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Z might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to New York. Anthony Pettis is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anthony Pettis! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Z scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Sloppy strikes from Z. Those never looked like landing. The fight moves into the clinch position. Z pulls guard successfully.
Pettis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Z is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Z is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pettis wants to pass the guard but Z is keeping the position. Z bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pettis's guard. Z passes Pettis's left leg - he's now in half guard. Pettis tries to roll over but Z keeps him under control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Z is looking to advance position but Pettis won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pettis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Z pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Z thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pettis's head. Pettis is trying to maintain the position but Z is very close to passing his half guard. Pettis looking for submissions off his back. Pettis is trying to get back to full guard. Z moves nicely into side control. Pettis dodges the ground and pound from Z. Z is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pettis has escaped the position, nice work there. Z has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pettis managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Z.
Pettis prevents Z from improving position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pettis is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Pettis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Z landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Z lands a nice forearm strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Pettis tries to improve position but can't. Z working the head and body with strikes. Z is trying to get an arm triangle but Pettis is defending well. Z wants to control but Pettis is keeping him busy. Pettis is trying to control Z's posture but Z avoids it. Z tries for a kimura but Pettis is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettis sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Pettis wants to get back to full guard. Z throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Z in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pettis tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Z!
