The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kid misses with a takedown
and Fitzwell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kid gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Fitzwell counters with a straight right hand.

and Fitzwell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Kid is rocked!
Richard Fitzwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Kid.

Fitzwell throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Kid decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fitzwell's guard.
Fitzwell pulls Kid in close to his closed guard and prevents Kid from doing any damage or advancing position.

Fitzwell has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kid off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Fitzwell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Fitzwell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kid moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Kid takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Fitzwell counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Richard Fitzwell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fitzwell is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fitzwell throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Kid stumbling backwards into the cage! Kid bounces back off the cage towards Fitzwell, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Fitzwell lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Fitzwell celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
