PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kim Tysse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikka Forsel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tysse's entrance music is Come on Eileen. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kim Tysse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikka Forsel!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tysse moves into the clinch.
Forsel displaying some good clinch control by pressing Tysse up against the cage.

Tysse wants the takedown. Forsel is fighting it off but Tysse persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Forsel's guard against the cage.
Tysse not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Forsel is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Tysse misses with a punch on the inside.
Tysse wants a takedown.
Nice body punch from Forsel - that landed with a thud.
Tysse is trying to break the clinch but Forsel has him pressed against the cage.
Forsel with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Tysse has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Tysse tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Forsel just stands there and leans against the cage.

Tysse breaks the clinch.
Forsel throws a right hand that Tysse ducks under and follows up with a left that Tysse also avoids with ease.

Tysse gets a clinch.
Tysse is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Forsel pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kim Tysse. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Forsel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Forsel throws a half hearted mid kick.

Tysse looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tysse is looking to take a break and control but Forsel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Forsel is controlling Tysse's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Forsel trying to control but Tysse postures up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Tysse seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Forsel throws a head kick that misses

and Tysse counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tysse.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Forsel has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Forsel manages to break the clinch.
Forsel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Forsel is looking to land body kicks.
Forsel fails with the takedown

and Tysse counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tysse.
Tysse is breathing heavily.
Forsel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Forsel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Tysse trying to control the position from guard on top but Forsel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tysse might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Forsel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Forsel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Forsel keeping moving, preventing Tysse from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Kim Tysse wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
An inside leg kick lands from Tysse.
Forsel is looking to clinch but Tysse is avoiding it.

Forsel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Tysse is trying to force a seperation but Forsel has the dominant position.
Tysse could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Forsel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tysse uses from the top position.

Forsel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tysse trying to control but Forsel is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tysse looking to sit in guard and control but Forsel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Tysse looking for a sweep. Not yet Tysse, not yet.
Forsel is standing up over Tysse. Tysse looks to escape but Forsel dives into side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Forsel.
Forsel working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Forsel looks up at the clock and then as Tysse takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Forsel smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim Tysse dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Tysse has a takedown stuffed.
Kim Tysse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Forsel drops Tysse with a beautiful combination! Tysse stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Forsel is looking for the KO!


Tysse is rocked!


It looks like Kim Tysse has been cut.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Forsel has cracked Tysse with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Forsel lands another huge swinging hook and Tysse tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Tysse, before Forsel can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mikka Forsel!
