Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Trip Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deon Du Plessis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Du Plessis has chosen Fort Minor - Remember the name as his entrance music. Deon Du Plessis struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Deon Du Plessis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deon Du Plessis!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hammer.
Du Plessis is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hammer's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Trip Hammer.
Well Du Plessis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
