The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Methven.
Francisco looking to score a takedown here. Methven is defending well but Francisco drives through and ends up in Methven's guard.
Francisco drops back, looking for a kneebar! Methven looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Methven looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Methven!
Methven connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Francisco some visible discomfort.
Francisco dodges the ground and pound from Methven.
Methven has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Methven connects with a nice short shot to Francisco's temple.

Oh Francisco is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Methven has hold of Francisco's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Francisco seems comfortable defending it but Methven has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Francisco is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Francisco is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Methven couldn't care less - he's delighted!
