PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen Disturbed- Indestructible as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonny Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Lee!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lee lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jones has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jones and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Jones moves away from the strike by Lee.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Lee circles away.
Lee throws a hook to the side of Jones's head but Jones sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones!

Lee pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Jones wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Lee.
Lee wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely.
Jones is bucking up trying to escape but Lee cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Lee thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Jones tries to buck Lee off but he can't manage it.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.
Lee throws some wild stikes that Jones manages to avoid easily.
Lee throws a wild left hand from mount and Jones manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Lee tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Lee not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Lee thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position.
Lee sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jones defending well though.

Jones is defending against the submission attempts here by Lee.
Jones is trying to stand.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lee decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Lee lands with a shot to the body.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
No joy there for Lee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cole Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Jones tries to clinch but Lee is having none of it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lee throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.

Lee keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jones is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lee to the mat! Lee manages to get full guard.

Cole Lee has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jones is looking to get back to is feet but Lee passes into side control.

Lee is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lee tries to score with some ground and pound. Jones controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Lee remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Lee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Lee creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jones sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Jones parries the strikes from Lee easily there. Lee is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jones to escape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lee.
Jones is pushing Lee's head away, looking to escape. Lee manages to hold on to the position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cole Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Lee is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lee is adopting a defensive guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lee is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jones keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cole Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
