Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Dale Arizona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott's entrance music is Bang - By Barry Scott. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glen Dale Arizona! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott jabbing away but nothing is landing. Scott closes the distance and clinches. Scott tries to throw a body punch but Arizona avoids it by throwing Scott back against the cage. Scott takes a knee right on the jaw!

Arizona's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Scott scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Arizona doesn't seem bothered though. A decent looking cross lands there for Scott. Scott misses the shot to the body. Arizona bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Arizona doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Scott dives in and scores a takedown into Arizona's guard. Arizona has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Scott has passed into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Scott looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Arizona tries to improve position but can't. Scott wants to lay and pray for a moment but Arizona keeps working. Arizona really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Arizona gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Scott wants to free his trapped foot but Arizona is holding on for dear life with his legs. Arizona keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott wants to take a breather but Arizona is having none of it. Scott trying to mount his opponent but Arizona defends it. Scott throws a strike but Arizona avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Scott postures up and lands a big shot to Arizona's brow. Scott passes Arizona's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Scott looks to land a strike but Arizona avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Scott wants to pass the guard but Arizona is keeping the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Arizona keeping moving, preventing Scott from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Scott works a leg free and moves into half guard. Scott sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Arizona defending well though. Scott uses his free foot to push down on Arizona's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Arizona. Scott working the ground and pound effectively.
Scott pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Scott looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Arizona is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Arizona can do anything to dispel that myth. Scott looking to control but Arizona is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Scott unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Arizona wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Scott celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
